Summary: In PSDB decisions are centralized in the executive level and are members of the directorate who are not feel, themselves, party leaders. Therefore it is understood that in an adverse context, the PSDB has particularities relevant to the study of subjective configurations of political participation of their party leaders. This work aims to understand these settings into four leaders of the PSDB/ES. Adopts the Theory of Subjectivity and Epistemology/Methodology Qualitative of González Rey to approach political participation seeking approximating organizational studies field to studies of psychology. Was also made documentary research about the PSDB/ES and review of the literature on political participation in parties, approach the major ills of the political system, engagement and party identification under a different perspective. The survey was conducted between april/2011 to march/2013 in Vitória. The information was produced by the researcher from group conversations, individual writing, questionnaire and participant observation. The production of information occurred from indicators and assumptions that, far from having any statistical significance, acquired legitimacy in that it opened new fields of intelligibility on the theoretical model under construction. Settings subjective political participation reveals: motivations, barriers and constraints of the leaders to assume their political participation, criticism and praise the PSDB in national and state level; differences between interest groups; distancing of decisions in the party and critical about the Partido dos Trabalhadores – PT. Finally, indicate some suggestions to improve the relationship between leadership and management inparty PSDB/ES, the contributions of this study to the literature, limitations and issues for future research.
