Summary: The research seeks to understand the learning process of administrative managers in a
telework environment. A descriptive qualitative study was conducted with administrative
managers from the Ifes – Cariacica campus. Data were collected through semi-structured
interviews and document analysis. The interviews were conducted in person, recorded and
transcribed. Data analysis followed the methodology of Reflexive thematic analysis by Clarke
and Braun (2006), allowing the categorization of information and the creation of systematic
codes, generating themes and subthemes that guided the discussion. This approach provided a
comprehensive understanding of the learning dynamics and challenges encountered by
managers during the transition to telework. Among the main challenges identified were
adapting to new technologies, maintaining effective communication, and managing teams in a
remote environment. The study also revealed that, despite the difficulties faced, telework
created opportunities for development and innovation in management practices. Managers
recognized the need to acquire new skills and knowledge, highlighting the importance of
continuous learning in a constantly changing landscape. Thus, the research findings contribute
to discussions on management and learning in the public sector, especially in times of digital
transformation and evolving work models.
