Summary: This paper addresses the topic work participation under the Private Administration. The concept of participation adopted involves decisions that relate to the plan to achieve the mission and the collective goals of the organization, whether corporate or not (LEITE, 2000). The research aims to identify, analyze and understand the subjective sense of participation in the work of managers and attendants of the Gas Station Vila Velha and for such, purports to describe the work of each subject involved in research and identify the mechanisms promoters and inhibitors participation in the work environment in the post. The theoretical work was based on some modern works on work participation and the Theory of Subjectivity in the historical-cultural perspective proposed by González Rey (2003). The subjects studied are: the owner of the station, the manager in charge of personnel of the runway, a consulting firm that trains and monitors the work of the attendants and three attendants. Data collection occurred between July 2010 and March 2011, WHERE the researcher was inserted in the subjects once a week or so. The instruments used were participant observation, conversations and completing sentences. As a result, it was noticed that the atmosphere of Old Town Tour is a rich source producing subjectivities, as well as spending 12 hours in each working day, this activity combines both personal desires, financial, professional, religious, motivations, aspirations and psychological needs which also includes the past history of each subject. It was also felt that the main problems found in the Old Town Tour, turnover and the devaluation of the employee, for example, is to question the management practiced by its director. Therefore, the choice of a participatory management could perhaps solve some of the problems encountered today in this environment, enabling a closer relationship between the desires and wishes of the director's office and other employees. The change in management practices could also allow more appreciation and respect for employees, more clinging, more confident and professional satisfaction about the role and place WHERE they act professionally and consequently lower turnover and feeling of “transience flammable” that seems to define the work of tour professionals who work in Vila Velha Gas Station.
