Summary: The present dissertation aims to understand the constitution of Adufes, a union entity of Brazilian university teaching unionism, as a space for participation, based on organizational practices engendered by its members, in the everyday organizational practices. The research developed here proposed to understand Adufes as an organizational process, having the perspective of organizing as an ontological position to carry out such an undertaking. Aiming to achieve the stipulated objective, I searched the theories of Michel de Certeau's practices for theoretical support to compose the lens I would use for such an investigation. Therefore, I sought to develop interpretations regarding the dynamics produced by the relationships in the Entity's participatory spaces. From a qualitative research I produced data in the field through participant observation, which took place between May and December 2019, with due registration in field diaries. The data produced were analyzed through
content analysis, based on what emerged from the field, which resulted in the
elaboration of three thematic categories. The results obtained point to a union action crossed by other participative spaces, which, while they can bring strength to the union's daily life, can also cause emptying, as these spaces correspond only to a portion of the members.
