Summary: Beyond the formalities and techniques that are within management, on this dissertation there was an interest in comprehend the organizing of ordinary management practices within the art of making of craftsmen in the field of seashell crafting in Piúma (ES). In theoretical terms, we use the conception of ordinary management (CARRIERI; PERDIGÃO; AGUIAR, 2014), which finds definitions of culture practices in Certeau (1998) the way to explain the management universe in small businesses. Also, we adopt the organizing definition, given the analyses of different processes that originate within these practices. The management practices in Piúma (ES) take place intertwined in drills which involve the necessity of surviving of the craftsmen, making an exerting multiple influences on the local culture. Therefore, 5 craftsmen were selected, given that 3 of them only work with seashell’s crafting and 2 with products that are not commonly found, considering the relationship between management practices and their cultural effects. We adopted qualitative research, we will be using as data collection method: documental research; non-structured interviews; and participating observations. The data examination happened with the narrative analyses technique, with a dialogue between the conception of narrative in Certeau (1998) and the temporality narrative in Ricoeur (1994). With the results, we could find and describe different arts of making, articulated with ordinary management techniques and connected with organizing processes that allow the survival of artisans. Furthermore, it was possible to identify different relationship networks in which the craftsmen are found doing multiple reflexive communications with the institutions (City Hall and SEBRAE), as also in their own daily management association. Finally, cultures showed itself as a plural and dynamic element among their daily practices.
