Summary: In this paper we sought to understand how to set the political awareness and the participation of managers of organizations that are part of the Junior Enterprise Movement - MEJ in the movement’s collective actions. The theoretical framework adopted in this study was an analytical model of political consciousness for understanding the participation in collective actions proposed by Sandoval (2001). This is a qualitative study, whose data were collected through participant observation, questionnaires, focus groups and semi-structured interviews. The participants were members of the management in 2015 and a representative of the federation. The data were analyzed through a priori content analysis, and adopted as categories of analysis the model dimensions. This study reveals discussions on the manager’s formation; discusses the transformation of those who participate in the movement with an emphasis in this formation; the reduced participation in collective action in society, and reveals the members of the research interest in the business area, passing the debate on meritocracy, elitism and power relations experienced in the MEJ and discussed about the positioning of the movement. The results show the junior companies that are part of MEJ, the mechanisms of participation in the MEJ, participation in collective actions of the movement and in society, and the contributions of participation in MEJ to professional for-training of the members of movement. It concludes that despite the MEJ nomenclature, the structure of the "movement" is closest to a business organization. Different political consciousness conceptions lead to the participation in the movement, revealing the beliefs, values and societal expectations, feelings of collective identity and will to act collectively. However, the goals and actions of the movement, antagonistic interests, challenges and feelings of injustice, are elements that would lead the members to disconnect with the MEJ.
