Summary: This dissertation aims to discuss the strategies used to recognize, identify and develop the skills of workers in the activity of processing marble and granite in the southern state of Espirito Santo. In addressing the development of skills in the sector of marble and granite we chose to learn beyond the formal models of management skills, but the mobilization of knowledge, the experience of workers and all the skills necessary to perform the work. Thus, using theoretical and analytical tools of the notion of competence, Ergology, Ergonomics and Work Psychodynamics activity, this research proposal was to build strategies for skills development and transformation of work for those who do, as we seek to know him. Thus, as a tool for the analysis of the work in the extraction and processing of marble and granite, we analyzed the discursive practices in the focus groups, direct observations and interviews with employees of companies in the Marble and Granite, working in the South of the Holy Spirit , linked to Sindirochas. The path taken to provide knowledge and discussion of devices that may contribute to the development of skills to make a collective act, enabling participation, creating work, reflecting the notion of work as something moving and dynamic, and valuing the experience of construction workers as a center of knowledge about working in the sector of marble and granite.
