Summary: This is a qualitative approach study in the light of Psychodynamics of Work aiming to understand defense strategies developed by workers in an organization due to suffering originated from attending occurrences involving suicide and/or attempted suicide. The study scenery was responsible labor organization, among others, by the intervention/attending of occurrences involving suicide and/or attempted suicide. The research subjects were workers from the mentioned company that had already attended occurrences involving suicide and/or attempted suicide. Data production instruments were semi structured interviews as well as free observation along the researching period. The research has consisted in two moments of insertion of the researcher into the field, namely: systematic establishment for research execution and data production. Data production occurred primarily in the workplace, being 15 (fifteen) workers interviewed. The interviews were transcribed and, along with the notes from observation, they were analyzed in the light of Labor Psychodynamic, through Bardin Content Analysis (2009) with aprioristic as well as a posteriori categories. The understanding of produced data reveals the existence of dissimulation defense and coping with suffering strategies due to the worker’s non-overwhelming to suffering as well as pleasure experiences, the elaborated senses, just like defense strategies are global experiences, making dissociations impossible; pleasure experiences are consisted of worker’s recognition and expression spaces; suffering experiences are consisted of labor organization impositions by frustration possibility and by the inexistence of prescriptions and the existence of variability and unpredictability.
